I believe the course of one’s life is charted long before you become aware of the influences. As a child, Sunday afternoon country road trips were the morn for my parents. We moved to Florida in 1957 to a rural area called Seminole and the road trips would continue throughout Pinellas County. By then, it was something I started to enjoy with visions of owning a lake front house surrounded by moss draped oak trees.
My personal journey started in 1967 when I enlisted in the United States Coast Guard. This global organization was known as the “family man service” with a dual role of helping people in distress and when directed, one of the 5 Armed Forces of the United States. I chose to become a Storekeeper whose duties were logistical in nature to support Coast Guard missions and personnel. Through education, promotions and transfers I advanced to a Chief Warrant Officer with a specialty in Finance and Supply. My numerous assignments and collateral duties related to personnel and their families during their transfer and search for leased housing where some of the most satisfying experiences. The interaction with those members and his family during their relocation fueled my laden interest to become a Realtor.
Upon retirement in 1995 my family was once again relocating to another new residence. This time it was much simpler as we were returning to our family’s roots, Seminole. It was natural choice since I grew up in the area and was familiar with the surrounding communities. Knowledge of the area is sequential element in being a successful Realtor. In choosing my next employer, I was looking for a Real Estate Company with presence and respect in the community. The Company had to have established programs for personnel support and training, which would foster my personal development. Finally, I would have to be proud of my association with that Company’s Name.
